Optomen is an award winning international television production company, focusing on factual and factual entertainment programmes. Optomen are in the top 30 independent production companies in the UK and they are still growing.

Optomen has established a very strong market position by producing high impact programmes, including: Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, The F Word for Channel Four and Police, Camera, Action for ITV.

Optomen is known for its true grit, uniqueness and the attention to detail it brings to its productions. The company has won many awards, including: an International Emmy, two BAFTAs, three Royal Television Society awards, three Indies and two Glenfiddich awards for food programming. Recently Televisual magazine’s prestigious Peer Poll awarded them 7th place in the top ten most respected UK independents noting that the company has “great people, real flair and originality”.

CBS started working with Optomen in 1996 and has adapted the Navision software to cater for Optomen’s unique requirements. Because CBS has worked with Optomen for over ten years they have a good understanding of the business and how Navision can best be used by this television production company to cater for their financial reporting requirements.

CBS have designed a Navision linked excel document which extracts costs entered into Navision onto the spreadsheet. This costbook has ensured tight cost control for all of their productions and provides a simple way for Production Accountants and Production Managers to work together.
