Creative Business Systems was formed in the mid 1980’s as a company that would develop software solutions for the finance and inventory needs of smaller enterprises.

One of the first solutions was developed on the Microsoft DOS platform and offered a robust and easy to use ERP solution to our customers. While always looking towards the future, a solution was created on the forms based Apple Macintosh – which (in its day) was a revolution in computing. This solution provided a fresh new interface to the (then) rather functional looking ERP / Finance packages.

On the back of the Microsoft DOS and Apple Macintosh based software the company focused on more enterprise level companies and moved into the provision of Hospitality solutions; specialising in front and back office solutions for Hotels.

In 1995, after the successful Hotel division was sold off, the company had to re-focus on it roots and developed a robust finance and inventory management solution. It was created with the aim of giving our customers a well tested solution that could then be tailored to meet their specific and often unique needs.

It was after the development of this that we became aware of a Danish package created by Navision A/S. This package was such a revolution to the established software solutions available (at that time) that we literally dropped the finance package we had developed and went full steam towards Navision. In fact, we were on the first training course that Navision UK ever held in the UK.

We now had access to a brilliant finance package, which had been developed by a strong and talented development team, and was ready to be utilised across a wide spectrum of business types. It was (and still is) a package that, out of the box, had multi-currency, multi-language and multi-location facilities and gave us direct and unrestricted access to the source code. Allowing us, and therefore our customers, the ability to run with a proven solution and still enabled tailoring of the solution to meet exacting needs. Unlike other customisable solutions, this allowed for reliable upgrades; so customers, even with customised solutions, could take advantage of new functionality when they wanted to.

This package has been enhanced and improved over many years, from the text based solution to what we now know as Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
