How SMEs in the UK are forging ahead with growth plans

Business, Technology

Results from a recent survey indicate that 86% of small and medium sized businesses in the UK are making plans to achieve new growth targets. Just under half the businesses surveyed state that they are planning to hire new staff to cope with growth, and others are planning to launch new products.

Business experts state that these actions will strengthen their position in the UK market at a time when we are likely to experience a period of uncertainty caused by the EU referendum.

At a time when the ‘digital divide‘ sees fifty percent of innovative businesses steaming ahead with successful growth through the use of technology, the other half are trailing behind, bound by archaic ways of operating.

94% of organisations believe that technology will transform their business, increasing productivity and growth.

Carolyn Fairbairn, Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), stated that “It’s vital that businesses in all sectors — from manufacturing to retail — truly understand digital technology’s potential, from the boardroom to the shop or factory floor.”

“And by harnessing the expertise of the generation at the heart of the digital revolution, firms will be better able to make the right investments for their digital future.”
